gripseal--pavecote-5l
Gripseal Pavecote is a durable penetrating coating for porous floors and paving.
Gripseal Pavecote is based on road marking paint formulation and is an ideal product for use on porous paving, porous concrete floors, porous common bricks,
porous cement bricks, and plant pots. Pavecote is highly durable, abrasion, UV and hot-tyre pick-up resistant. As Pavecote is a water-based product, the
surface it is being applied to needs to be sufficiently porous for Pavecote to penetrate. All surface must be free of any previous coating and must be clean, dry, and free from
dust, oil, grease and dirt. Concrete screeds must be acid washed before application of Pavecote. Pavecote is not suitable for a power floated concrete surface.
In all cases, a porosity test should be done before applying Pavecote. Is a water-based weatherproof, environmentally friendly, easy maintenance re-coats, water
clean up and hop-tyre pick-up resistant.
Product application:
Brick patios, Brick driveways, Clay Bricks and Brick veneers.
How to use:
New surfaces:
Must be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and dirt. Remove fungus and algae. Rince thoroughly with clean tap water and allow to dry. If applying on a concrete screed,
an acid washed is necessary as follows:
(i) Mix 1 part pool acid with 9 part water.
(ii) Apply solution to the surface.
(iii) Allow to stand for 1 hour.
(iv) Rince thoroughly with tap water and allow to dry.
(v) Neutralise the area.
Previously painted surfaces:
(i) Remove all loose, peeling or flacking paint to a film base by using a wire brush to provide a key for subsequent coating. Acid wash to remove all previous coatings
Neutralise.
(ii) Then wash the entire surface with grease remover to remove grease, oil or any other surface contaimination. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry completely.
(iii) If previously coating with epoxy, enamel, stoep paint or other oil-based coatings, the surface must be stripped back to its bare/ original state before coating.
(iv) Stir paint thoroughly before use. For best results and a smooth even finish, apply 2 even coats. First coat to be thin coat and then the secondcoat as normal coat.
(v) Clean applicators with a clean water directly after application. Thinning: Not recommended. If diluted, only dilute the first coat, not the finishing coat. Dilute with clean water
tap water by 10%. Allow 45 - 60 minutes between coats and 12 hours for the coating to cure completely. Do not drive over the surface for a minimum of 48 hours.
Coverage:
6 - 8 square metres per litre per coat - depending on surface
porosity.
